For women, by women.

"We've stood on stages, pitched our ideas, sold our work, and navigated rooms where we had to show up and make an impression. We know the nerves. We also know the ambition, the frustration of not being heard, the moment you walked away wishing you'd said more. We're not teaching theory. We're teaching what we've lived and what we've helped hundreds of women do."

What we believe.

We founded Female Speaking Berlin to empower women through confident, authentic, embodied communication training. These values shape every workshop, every program, and every coaching session.

Your voice, in the world.

We believe the world belongs to those who are heard. We're here to make sure your ideas don't stay inside your head, they get out and make things happen.

Every voice counts.

Who gets heard shapes what gets built. We're here to make sure more women are in that conversation.

Practice over theory.

Confidence comes from doing, not knowing. So every session is hands-on: you speak, you get real feedback, and you try again. That's how you grow.

Growing in community.

Courage is contagious. Learning to speak up is easier when you're not doing it alone.

Meet the founders.

Both trained in the performing arts. Both convinced that every woman has a voice worth hearing.

Esther de Bruijn, co-founder of Female Speaking Berlin and theater educator

ESTHER

Co-founder, public speaking coach, actress.

Esther is a theater educator, actress and coach with over ten years of experience working with performance, presence, and voice. Born in the Netherlands and based in Berlin, she has stood on many stages herself and knows both the nerves and the joy that come with standing in the spotlight. With a cum laude degree from the Academy of Theatre and Education, she translates theatrical and somatic methods into practical tools for everyday communication and leadership.

Her work spans EU-funded theater productions, early-career programs, NGOs, and corporate environments. She has worked with journalists in exile, people in rehabilitation settings, individuals with disabilities, female entrepreneurs, and leaders in corporate sectors, always adapting her approach to the people in the room.

Some questions, some answers.

What do you mean when you use the terms 'women' or 'female' or 'womxn'?

We use these terms to refer to all persons who identify as women, including diverse experiences of womanhood: trans, cis, and intersex women, non-binary identities and diverse expressions of gender. We also welcome male allies to selected events.

Why are your trainings designed for women only?

Something shifts when you put women together in a room and create a safe, open space. Shared experiences create natural support and community. We believe that as long as there is no gender equity, we are losing fifty percent of the potential and perspectives women bring to shaping our society, our workplaces, and our values. Our mission is to contribute to that shift, with the skills we know best: public speaking.

Don't you think men should be included if we want a more equal world?

Yes, absolutely. Creating gender equality requires everyone at the table: not just as passive participants, but as engaged allies. At the same time, many women lack supportive spaces where they can practice, grow, and build confidence in speaking up. Women-only workshops foster the connection and solidarity that make this kind of growth possible. We are actively working on allyship programs to include men in the conversation in an impactful way.

How does public speaking contribute to female empowerment?

When women are equipped with the skills to speak with clarity and presence, they step into leadership, advocate for themselves, and share their expertise: particularly in male-dominated spaces. Research shows women are interrupted more often in meetings. Building the ability to speak up, handle interruptions, and own the room is essential, not optional. What we see in our trainings: when women share their stories, strong networks of support and mentorship form naturally. That is how a movement starts.

What kinds of services do you offer?

We offer public speaking training in three formats: programs (4-month tracks for sustained behavioural change), workshops (half-day to multi-day, fully tailored), and 1:1 coaching (single sessions or multi-session packages). We also run a unique After-Work Storytelling Event format for companies.

Are your programs only for Berlin-based women?

Our open, in-person workshops take place in Berlin. All our customised training programs, in-company workshops, and 1:1 coaching are bookable worldwide. We have run sessions across Europe and worked with international clients including UN Women, TEDx, and DCA Europe.
